Barrel Racing Clinic with Elizabeth Heseltine — an accomplished horsewoman with a background in top-level polo across England, New Zealand and Australia, and now in the thick of her barrel racing career here in Australia, consistently bringing home placings and buckles. 📍 Dates: Jan 17–18 💰 Cost: $150 (includes ground fees & camping) members. $190 non members (includes day membership) 🐴 What’s covered: Rules of the sport Barrel pattern fundamentals Training drills & teaching your horse the pattern If there’s enough interest, we’ll also run a jackpot the next day — $40 entry, ribbons to 5th & cash payouts to 3rd (weather permitting). Limited to 10 riders Fence sitters welcome - $20 Having grown up working with horses and with a background in top level polo across England, New Zealand and Australia, Elizabeth Heseltine brings a solid foundation in horsemanship and professionalism to her barrel racing. After returning to her rodeo roots and focusing on the sport of barrel racing in the last couple of years, she’s earned All Round Cowgirl, 1D Divisional and Novice Barrel Horse wins and buckles, rarely heading home without a cheque. Now turning her hand at training her own barrel horses, focusing on calm, confident foundations and connection. Using her knowledge of barrel horse training her current project horse has gone from having never been to a rodeo environment to winning a 3D buckle at its first jackpot in two months. Having been vital in the establishment of a horsemanship program for at risk youth in the Kimberley, her past students have gone for never having touched a horse to competing in various rodeo disciplines across WA, finding success in their own right.
